Goal-oriented, strengths-based training for brief clinical intervention.
Goal-oriented, strengths-based training for brief clinical intervention.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a strengths-based, goal-oriented approach that helps clients identify solutions rather than dwell on problems — making it especially valuable in time-limited clinical settings. This certificate programme trains participants in the core principles and techniques of SFBT for use in real clinical practice.
Participants are introduced to the theoretical foundations of SFBT and guided through its core techniques — including goal-setting, scaling questions, and exception-finding — with supervised practice built into the course.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to: – Apply core SFBT principles in brief clinical work – Use solution-focused questioning techniques (scaling, miracle question, exception-finding) – Structure brief, goal-oriented therapeutic conversations – Apply SFBT skills under supervision
SFBT is particularly effective in goal-oriented, time-limited work; the course covers its scope and appropriate application.
No — the course is designed to stand alone, though prior clinical training is helpful context.
